Delta Goodrem congratulates ex Brian McFadden and Vogue Williams on their engagement

Delta Goodrem has congratulated her ex fiancé Brian McFadden on his engagement to Vogue Williams.

The 27-year-old star, who spent four years engaged to the former Westlife singer, broke her silence at the G'Day USA gala in Los Angeles this weekend.

Delta said: 'I wish them the best.'

Now happily dating pop star Nick Jonas, 19, the singer said she is content with her lot.

She added: 'I am happy, it is 2012 and I am in a great space right now.'

Once Australia's golden couple, Delta was romanced by the Irish star for seven years. However, in April 2011 they announced they had split.

The Irish singer has moved on  remarkably quickly – announcing his engagement to Dublin model Vogue last week.

While Delta was said to have called time on the romance, Brian insisted: 'I definitely wasn't dumped.

'It was a completely mutual decision. It is sad. Seven years is a long time together.'

Yesterday, the singer revealed that he and his new fiancée - known as 'Brogue' - are returning to Ireland to celebrate their good news.

Brian said: 'We're leaving on a jet plane. Can't wait to see my girls,  family and friends.'
