It may have come as a surprise that Russell Brand gave up his A-list wife to cavort with an unknown.

But it seems the comedian's new squeeze is actually not quite as anonymous as first thought.

The pretty brunette has been identified as Hungarian model Nikolett Barabas.

And it seems the 32-year-old intends to make a name for herself across the globe, having signed to Attractive Elite Models in her native Budapest, Mega Model Agency in Hamburg, Wilhelmina Models in fashion capital New York and Next Company in Vienna, Austria.

Nikolett is also venturing onto the silver screen, having been cast in Magic Boys alongside Michael Madsen and Vinnie Jones.

The film, which also stars Londoner Tamer Hassan, follows two blue-collar Hungarians who disguise themselves as Chippendale dancers to blackmail a scheming gangster.

She is also credited for her role in 2000 production Contagion, which featured Natascha McElhone and William Hurt.

Nikolett is said to measure 5ft 10in, with a US six dress size and statistics of 34-23-35.

Her good looks earned her a casting for a major Motorola campaign, which saw her star in the Razr2 television Commercial.

Russell only filed for divorce from Katy Perry three months ago, but things with Nikolett seem serious.

The comedian took the model out with his mum Barbara last weekend on a Mother's Day trip.

However, the two leading ladies in his life didn't showcase Brady Bunch body language as they were snapped standing with their backs to one another.

Russell will no doubt welcome a new lease of love, after he was arrested for criminal damage.

Yet he seems to be doing his best to put his legal troubles behind him, house hunting in West Hollywood this week out of defiance he may be sent back to England if found guilty with the charges.

Russell had been in the process of becoming a naturalised US citizen through his marriage to Katy but recent events could put his status under consideration.

He was spied taking the bikes for a ride with his female companion, yet the owner of the store he borrowed them from says he hasn't seen them since.
